Coaching: Personal Training 04

There was a baseline set of stuff to get done over the weekend. Max push-ups, sit-ups in 2:00 and a 1.5 mile run for time. Those got done and reported.

Got in this morning and worked on upper body strength and core with Front Squats and inverted rows followed by a metcon of bent over rows, push ups to failure and sit ups. Very taxing workout for sure.

Coaching early morning classes. Fairly uneventful today but good. The two New You classes had a partner workout of running 200m and burpees. Ugh… The regular class had Front Rack Lunges and Box Jumps for a really painful domain after a good 5×1 backsquat workup. Good classes.

Workhorse Coaching 008

Three classes this morning. Started off kinda slow, everyone geared up after the TTB practice and handstand attempts. The same two big leaders killed it and got through to set the stage for the next New You class.

2nd class was a standard class, with a 200m farmer’s carry and max-rep pull-ups. Bleh… barn burner there.

Had an instance where one person didn’t want to do the workout prescribed. So upon my suggestion, we just threw her on the elliptical for the remainder of class. Bottom line though, is if you aren’t doing what the coach programs or says during the workout, you should either pay for private training/lessons and come back then, or GTFO…

Other New You class was much better with their efforts but still had the same trouble peeps.

Coaching: Personal Training 02

Second day of training. She did great. We started with a ½ mile run and then some overhead press work. Old school 5×5 of presses to build strength. Then a good 3x 5:00 set of metcon work. Good stuff and ended with some mobility and introduced the foam roller.

Coaching: Personal Training 01

First day of personal training/coaching. We did great. Got through the setup and first round of metcon pretty well. Then did a Deadlift 5×5 for strength. Then the final metcon which was a 12:00 AMRAP.

Got her going on the paleo-diet too. That will be the hardest part I think.

Overall a great start. Building on some basics and generally looked strong. Looking forward to the other two sessions this week to see what we have to work with.
