Team Fight Class: did a 15 minute warm up of conditioning and kicks. Then setup a 5×5 ring and did a bunch of real-time point fights. Each student got at least 2 fights in, some got more. But overall good effort in the fights and we get to see where everyone is, kinda. Good night though. I think everyone is as ready as we can get them right now.

Big class tonight. We started with 5x rounds of :30 on :10 off, Jumping Jacks, Plank Hold, Squats & Leg Levers. By about round 3 some kids were really squirming under the leg work. Had some of them skipping reps and generally not working. My class partner really ripped into them and had a few square words for sure tonight. Hopefully it get’s through to them.
We then paired up and did ½ round kick drills, then some offense and defense drills one-on-one. Then we split up and did sudden death fights for about 30 minutes with the one who wins staying in for 3 fights in a row with the losing opponent owing 20 push-ups.
Good night in the end, some kids worked hard and I really see the difference in some of the other’s fighting and movement for sure.

Big class, pretty much everyone came out tonight. We got to work immediately. My goal was to work them out, then drill then 30 minutes of sparring. We were still fairly unfocused most of the class… I gotta get this right.
Worked up to the side kick, backfist bodypunch drill, with the defensive sidekick thrown in.
I think next week i’m going to do a ton of kicks for the workout then we’re going to do more sparring.

Didn’t do too much as far as coaching tonight. Warmed up the team for a quick 5:00 set to set their minds. Then split the class in two and worked on the walk out with the newbies. Pretty awesome seeing them do this for the first time. They’re going to gain so much confidence this year, it’s exciting to watch.

Only four students again. We worked hard and on some good skills.
Started off watching some Raymond Daniels fight videos.
Warmed up with some good movements to engage the legs and cardio. Then did “battle stations” for 2 rounds. This smoked them pretty well off the bat.
We then did a few side kick drills on the heavy pads. Eventually working on spinning side/back kicks against an opponents ½ round kick. Ended with some ‘limb speed’ kicks for practice out of the 1/w round. Getting them to ‘slap’ instead of kick for power.
Good hard working kids in class. Love them!
