Day 3 of mini-camp

We worked on Self Defense this morning, ran through all 6 sets and spend some time on the “throw” intensive ones.

Pretty sore right now… 🙂

251

Self Defense today. We started off with kicks, drilled them like normal. I felt pretty good with my kicks today, plenty of good energy and I felt pretty spry.

After kicks/warmup we paired off and drilled self defense. We worked primarily on 4th – 6th set and just drilled them over and over. Still have plenty of work to get these really flowing for the videos but it was a big step.

230

Brown & Blackbelt class. We started by running 12 laps, then drilled 5th set of self defense: Elbow Form, Spinning Elbow, Ball Bat Attack, Knife Attack & Full Nelson a few times, slow then fast then again and again.

We then broke off and learned more of Konku until we soaked our Gi’s.

Self Defense (noon class) today. We reviewed all sets of self defense from 1st to 6th. I stumbled pretty bad remembering the 6th set but thanks to some great coaching today I got back into the swing of it. It wasn’t a terribly taxing class, physically speaking, but it tested my ability to remember my self defense.
