Regular class tonight was Fighting/Sparring. We started off with all basic kicks 3x each, then some combo drills while moving around. Suited up and dis some round robin sparring. Decent night. I have to get used to sparring in a regular Gi though. Class ended with some people doing pullups, I didn’t volunteer thinking someone else should get some focus, but then Sensei picked Clint and I was like “dang, I should have just jumped up…”
Brown/Blackbelt class was intense for Kata. We started with running 12 laps carrying a medicine ball (15#) then we drilled the 5th set of Self Defense:
5th Set:
Ball bat attack
Knife attack
Elbow form
Spinning Elbow
Full Nelson
Then we did worked on Konku for about 30 minutes. I really worked and was pretty sweaty when we were finished. All in all, a pretty long 2 hours tonight. I’m pooped now.

Ran through all our Kata and then self defense then all the Kata again. Long morning full of some good work. Left feeling pretty good about it.

Drilled Self Defense. Took some slow and worked on all parts that have a trip, throw or toss. Then drilled Throw and Hip Toss. Felt awkward but my confidence gained as we progressed. Needs more work though.

Self Defense class. Very clumsy class today, I just wasn’t on. Perhaps it was having just come off the written portion of the rank test requirements that had me all “off”.
We reviewed all 6 sets then broke off and worked on some individual drills.

Self Defense. Did a private lesson with Sensei to finish up my self defense requirement before my test. Really great class, tons of fun today. New stuff learned was Hip Toss and Short Rib. But also reviewed everything up this 6th set, including: Side Knife Attack, Dislocated Shoulder, and Hook Kick.
