Brown & Blackbelt class. 2nd class was Kata and we worked on continuing Konku. I drilled and drilled and got to what we were told is about half way through the Kata. Jeeze, this is a long, difficult Kata to learn. But i’m getting there.
Noon class today was Kata. Warmed up with basic kicks, then started right in on Kata. To begin we did footwork only of Taigo 1, Taigo 3, Pinan 1 and Naihanchin. Naihanchin completely blew my mind without the hands portion to it. *whew* Taigo 3 actually helped me improve my Kata there. It’s amazing how much I used my hands/arms to show power and for balance. Doing just the feet only really makes you focus on driving power through your hips. Very smart. We then did all the Kata with hands and feet kind of back to back. Ending on Empi. Very good class today!
