Basics/Kihon: My favorite class… sarcasm. Seriously I had a lot of fun in class today. I may have been too loose, but the people who come at noon class are good folks. We started with kick drills, but had to kick over a chair. Then we drilled 4-5 good long rounds of basics. I did about 70 push-up throughout class. Yay.

There was no assigned class type today and I lead class. So we did a good mixture of good stuff. 🙂
We stared with Jumping Jacks, Squats & Push-ups then did a Tabata of Jump Rope and Sit-ups.
We then did stances across the floor 10x for :10 each. Ouch…
Then paired off for a ‘dead man’ Tabata of sparring with last man in, next in line for the ‘dead man’ drill.

Tonight was my first Fight Class. We had almost all of Team Dojo in there and some adults. I largely ran it from a script I made but it went well. Had them sweating really well and working. Working on basic skills and moving. Going to take a while to build them all up but we’ll get there.

Kicks/Basics: Last class before Blackbelt test. We started off with basic kicks. I was not stretched or ready at all so my kicks were crap… gotta make sure I get ready before kicks and such during the test… 🙁
We did basic strikes from a relaxed stance. Focusing in on ‘snapping’ the strike.
Then we did a couple rounds of basics. I did zero push-ups, so feeling positive about basics going into the test. Though I know it will still be tough as hell.

First off. Pretty awesome gift given to me today. My friends brought back a piece of rock I used for a Blackbelt Test mission up in the mountains. Pretty epic gift. I love it.
Class itself was Basics: I had a zero push-up round, but had several in our last Basics round… Really going to have to make time to work on these more before the test in January.
