Ran the Hairy Bison 15k. Pretty painful over the last 2-3 miles and my lack of training really caught me. Ugh… but done.

Run @ Harbison

Harbison run this morning in the cold to prep a little for the Hairy Bison. It totally sucked…

4.5 miles in 1:11

Took a small group (5) around Harbison Forrest for a trail run & training session.

We started off with some Yoga (led by another person) then we started off for a few intervals; 5:00 on 2:00 off. We ran a quick WOD:

WOD #1
20 Mountain Climbers
10 Push Ups
4 raised leg push ups
20 punches (shadowbox)
20 squats
10 tri-pods
10 raised leg bridges
10 sit ups
20 flutter kicks

Then more running until we got to the big hill. I issued a challenge, and had them run up the hill without stopping ~400m, then we ran back down. I had them then each pick up a big river rock (it was to represent their goals for 2018 – big enough to be difficult, but not too big they couldn’t complete it.) We made a pile at the top.

Then ran back out to another clearing for a longer WOD:

WOD #2
10 sprinter lunges
20 side-to-side choppers
10 squats
20 punches
20 high knees
10 jump squats
20 mountain climbers
1:00 high hold plank

WOD #3
30 squats
5 high jump knee tucks
20 mountain climbers
10 push ups
30 second plank
20 lunges
20 flutter kicks
10 situps
10 windsheild wipers

Then ran for a short bit and walked the remaining mile out of the Forrest.

Good day and good camaraderie, definitely doing this again, trying to get it bigger. I think they all had a blast.

Finisher: Waffle House 🙂

Training: Harbison Run/Hike

Got almost 9 miles. 3 hours. Woooo! Getting ready if we can for this Table Rock ½.
