Today was a long day of class(es). First was noon class like normal. I learned back kick and practiced all the other kicks i’ve learned so far.
Then that evening I went to a 2 hour fight class. The first big fight class for me. It was interesting trading kicks and getting some kick conditioning in just a few hours after the earlier class. All made more difficult by some kind of oncoming cold/flu thing I have.
Great day of learning all around; ranging, landing and targeting kicks is not easy but the practice is so very much fun.

Tonight was fight class. There were several guys who showed up for it and boy was it fun. Learning to spar for points vs. working on fighting with Giovanni are two totally different things. Both still the absolute best workouts you can get into.
I definitely have a long way to go with my technique but i’m enjoying the road so far.

Worked out with Giovanni at the Gym. Warmed up with some kickboxing, did some rounds. Then sparred for over an hour. I’m totally wiped out and got this giant stinking blister on my big toe for today’s activities. Definitely getting a little better, inch by inch.

Tonight was my first Fight Class. Enjoyed it immensely, Nathan ran the class and I got about 3 rounds off from everyone. Basically just getting my feet wet and learning the ropes. I’m excited to see what everyone brings as we speed up and get more complex.
After class and for the final 20 minutes I stuck around for the Fitness Class that was going on at the same time. Flipped the heavy tire and did some plyo-deck jumps. Very thankful for the strength training i’ve been doing with Giovanni.

So I couldn’t get enough of my first class I had to go and check out the fight class tonight. Sensi let me come and vist, I took Thomas to see what the deal was and was pleasantly surprised for this to make me even more excited.
Another great lesson is to see how truly committed Sensei is in helping everyone get better and keep them in high spirits. It can’t be easy and i’m humbled to experience it. Makes me want to be a better person.
