Dojo: Self Defense
Stayed late and did some Self Defense filming. Got all the way up to and done with 3rd set. Good stuff and great practice. I feel like we may be fine tuning all these as we go through them.

Self Defense: We started off with basic kicks. 2x of each slow with 2sec chambers then one fast with power. Then we split up into groups, I was in the Brown Belt group.
We drilled 5x each of 4th set of Self Defense. Face Kick Breakdown, Drop Kick, Lefty, Choke From Behind, Front Snake
Self Defense. Got there about 40 minutes early and Sensei had us start working early… we did 5x of each for 5 or so rounds each defend & attack of Blasting Elbow and Elbow Form.
Then we started class officially. We began with a Cha Na Gi block drill where one student attacked and we blocked 20x each time. Then split into groups.
In our groups we did the 5x each attack & defend drills for 5 or so rounds each of; Elbow Form, Two Arm Grab and Side Snake. We worked staying cool and “subdued” but with strength.
Very good solid night. I quite enjoyed it.
Self Defense (noon class): Had a good class. We started with drilling some kicks. Then went into drilling the 4th set. Face Kick Breakdown, Drop Kick, Lefty, Choke From Behind & Front Snake. Then we worked on Short Rib together and on the heavy bag. Finally pairing up and doing Face Kick Breakdown with a real takedown. Good stuff.
Self Defense. We did some first & second set drills of self defense together as a group. Then paired off. I was put in charge of the Brown and Green belts for the evening. We worked on Dislocated Shoulder and Short Rib. Two of my favorites.
