Training
Went on a long run today. We got in a total of 10 miles traveled, probably about 6-7 running. It was hot and I don’t think I fueled properly before going out. About half way I started feeling like I was running on empty but pushed on. At about mile 7 I realized I was completed out of fuel and didn’t have much to keep pushing with. We made it out okay, very tired and clearly worn down. It wasn’t until we got in the car and started for home that I really started to feel it. A wave of nausea, cramps and chills started to hit me hard. I had to pull over and let someone else drive. We had to pull over for me to vomit out the door once before making it home. After which I got hit with a mild case of shock.
All in all, i’m fine now. Fully recovered and have a good lesson for how to fuel better and how to listen to my body more clearly during such a long run.
I can’t wait to get back out and test my new knowledge and prepare for it properly again.
*cheers
