Table Rock Pinnacle Hike
Went up to Table Rock Park super early (5am) to hike up to the Pinnacle.
8.5 miles for 5:30 minutes with a total of 2,283 ft elevation climb.
It was a fight, the last mile up to the pinnacle was the worst. I thought about quitting several times, but kept at it. Going tree to tree… Got to the top after what was a 3 hour climb and got hit with some bad leg cramping. We rested for 20 or so minutes and got busy getting back down. Fought cramps all the way down the mountain finally ending up in the water fall at the foot of the trail. It was the thought of the water that kept me rolling over that last mile or two…
BUT when I got there, I got right into the water, it was about 40 degrees, very cold. I waded in and then sat under the water fall itself for a good 5 minutes. Serious Samurai stuff there. However it almost put my body into total shock. I felt myself almost seizing up and numb around my face. I’ve felt that before and it’s not fun. I calmed myself and was able to get over it in about 30 minutes and we got back on the road to home.
I kinda can’t wait to try this trail again…
