I certainly have, and in today’s episode, I’m sharing the costly lessons learned from over 20 years of running businesses, including a web design software development company, a co-working space, an event conferences and promotions company, and most recently, a gym. I’ve been running a successful web design software development business, a coworker, an event conferences and promotions company, and most recently a gym. I emphasize the importance of paying attention to contracts and liability before entering a business relationship with someone, and how even if you win a lawsuit, you still might have to pay a lot of money to get through it.

We discuss strategies to effectively communicate with your team and stakeholders. We discuss the importance of taking the time to detach and process our decisions or reactions to a situation. I share a few tools that have helped me, such as writing it down, recording an audio note, and using a service called Future Me. I then share a story of a failure I experienced as a leader – taking on a project for a political action group without understanding the implications.
