Fight Club: Ran class with ½ drills and ½ sparring. I like the mix. Oddly the drills were more work than the sparring…
I actually came an hour early to class and ran the first ½ of the 6:00 youth class. Warmed them up with some exercise then some footwork drills. Oversaw some sparring rounds and then had to move out to fight club.
We started off class with a tabata of jump rope for 8 rounds. Then did 3x tabata rounds of footwork drills and sidekick defensive counter drills. We were winded and totally sweaty at that point. Then we broke off and did about 25 rounds of 1:00 sparring matches. We ended class with 5 or so minutes of discussion and I actually like ending that way. Good lessons learned and recapped.
I love running these classes. So fun!
