Tony on the Tim Larkin Podcast

You’ve been an instructor of the Martial Arts for a long time, studied self defense an violence for over 40 years; what is the ONE thing you would teach someone if you only had 1 hour with them?

I teach martial arts (Karate) one thing I preach is Self Defense, i’d like to make my instruction more meaningful, how can I do that?

You posted: This idea is counterintuitive – your teacher isn’t your teacher, the bad guy is your teacher.

You Don’t Need To Be A Blackbelt To Defend Yourself – What do you mean with that?

You’ve created a Self Defense class or system for CrossFit, can you talk about how that came about and how you approached the curriculum for it?

How do you deal with the people who critique you publicly or even privately that don’t really seem to know about the reality of violence. AKA the McDojo Sensei

The KNOW FEAR® program which focuses on managing fear through

  • Self-awareness
  • Resiliency
  • a ‘movement’ mindset

“Doubt creates hesitation. Hesitation creates procrastination. Unchecked that becomes worry or worse.”

“You can’t be brave if you’re not afraid”

“Those who manage their fear manage the fight”
